Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor’s Ek Thi Daayan was expected to grow on Saturday as the movie didn't have an unprecedented opening on Friday, but it looks like the movie didn't live up to the expectations of the audiences and witnessed about 20% drop in collections at the domestic box office. The net collection of the film on its second day is 4.80 crores that takes its total collection in two days to 10.85 crores.
Emraan Hashmi starer Ek Thi Daayan witnessed a decent footfalls on its opening day on Friday. Though the movie didn't live up to its hype and hoopla, it managed to get 40-45% occupancy all across the theaters. As per early estimates, the first Friday box office collection of the movie is about 6.05 crores.
Instpite of not having any big star, Kai Po Che opened to a good response at the multiplexes across the country. Though it had a big competitor in form of Zila Ghaziabad, it beat the competition by a good margin and collected about 4.50 crores on its opening day at the domestic box office. Based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’ Kai Po Che is being liked by its target audiences.
As expected Zila Ghaziabad faced a tough competition from Kai Po Che at the multiplexes. But it fared a bit better at the single screens and because of that it collected about 3.75 crores at the domestic box office on its opening day. The movie’s best performance was in mass circuits like Bihar, CP, CI, UP and Rajasthan and a lacklustre performance across all metros.
Akshay Kumar's non-masala flick 'Special 26' had rock-solid second weekend at the domestic box office. After collecting 43.50 crores in its first week, the film garnered 3 crores on Friday, 4.50 crores on Saturday and 5.50 crores on Sunday taking its net collections to 57 crores in 10 days.
After having an average opening on Friday, Akshay Kumar's Special 26 started picking up Saturday onward. After collecting about 26 crores in its first weekend, the film managed very consistent collections right through the weekdays, hence bringing in around 43.50 crores in its first week.
After having humongous first weekend of more than 50 crores, Race 2 started falling down Monday onwards. The movie couldn't sustain well at the ticket counter in spite of zero competition and collected just 20 crores in the remaining 4 days of the week one - Monday 6.50 crore, Tuesday 5.75 crores, Wednesday 4.00 crores and Thursday 3.60 crores. The net first week collection of the movie now stands at 70 crores.
